Agua de Jamaica
We love this amazing drink! This savory beverage is amazing year round. In fact, Starbucks sells a similar drink for more than four dollars. Our version costs 45 cents per drink! Once you learn to make this drink, you will be hooked!
By the way, we love Disclosure! They are amazing artists, and wanted to honor them by including their song You &Me (Flume remix) in this video!
Agua de Jamaica Recipe
- 2 cups (about 3 ounces) dried hibiscus flowers
- 3/4 to 1 cup sugar
- ice cubes
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium pot. Add the hibiscus flowers, turn off the heat, cover the pot, and let the flowers steep for 20 to 30 minutes.
Strain the mixture through a sieve into a large pitcher, pressing on the flowers to extract as much liquid as possible, then discarding the solids. Add the sugar and stir until it dissolves. Pour in 5 cups of water, stir, and season to taste with sugar.
Chill the pitcher in the fridge, then pour hibiscus agua fresca into ice-filled glasses or refrigerate for up to three days.
